Dr. Sandra Sleszynski, BSN, DO, FAAO

Sandra L. Sleszynski is an Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon. Originally from Tonawanda, New York, she came to Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing medical school training in 1989, an undergraduate fellowship in manipulative medicine and her Rotating Medical/Research Internship in 1990, Dr. Sleszynski headed for Kenosha, Wisconsin. She completed her Residency Training in Family Practice through the Medical College of Wisconsin Parkside satellite.

“Doc Sandy,” as her patients call her, opened a solo private Family Practice in 1993, which she called Crossroads Premiere Health Care, S.C., in Kenosha. She retired from Family Practice, in 1999, to specialize in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. She now specializes in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT).

Dr. Sleszynski’s main interest is in treating complex patients. She enjoys applying Osteopathic Philosophy to her patient care. She is especially adept at using osteopathic manipulative treatments to diagnosis and treat difficult health issues that are unclear to other providers. Doc Sandy enjoys working with patients who have had trauma, either physical or emotional, happen to them. Her patients with post traumatic stress disorder do very well. She has expertise in treating cranial and pelvic dysfunctions. Fibromyalia, chronic back pain and headaches are among some of the conditions Doc Sandy likes to treat.

In her lifetime, Dr. Sleszynski has been involved in quite a bit of research. She published two papers during her training and several others since then. She received the Research Award for her graduating class in her Residency and the George W. Northup Award for Medical Writing in 2005. In 2007, she was conferred the degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy (like a PhD in manipulative medicine). She has held chairmanships on several national committees.

Doc Sandy lives with her husband, Neal, and pet therapist Shaman. She has three children. Her oldest son, Brian, works as an architect in Minnesota; her oldest daughter Kat recently relocated to Arizona with Doc Sandy’s first three grandchildren – Athena Sadie, Ares Allen, and Andromeda Elivra; Her youngest daughter Thia is a massage therapist and teacher in Lawrence Kansas, Doc likes to kayak, swim, hike with Shaman and spend time driving the countryside with her husband in her free time.
